Joshua and Caleb (the Bearded Bible Brothers™)

Brothers Joshua and Caleb were born into a Messianic Jewish family that was involved in spreading the Gospel of Yeshua/Jesus. The brothers grew up under the leadership and tutelage of great warriors of the faith, including their missionary godparents, who inspired them with a desire to reach the lost.

During the summer when he was 18, Joshua began traveling the world as a missionary to share the love of Yeshua and fulfill the Great Commission. His outreach ranged from public preaching to acts of service including plumbing, painting, and supporting international ministries. Later, he joined younger brother Caleb in pursuing a degree in radio, television, and film — a potent combination that empowered them to creatively communicate the Gospel.

In a significant juncture, they joined Berg Productions in March 2006 — just before Zola Levitt’s heavenly birthday. Berg produces Our Jewish Roots (formerly Zola Levitt Presents), the weekly television program of Zola Levitt Ministries. Caleb remained with the Berg team as a camera operator, editor, graphic artist, and animator, while Joshua returned to the road.

Joshua’s freelancing enabled him to evangelize around the world. He worked in African orphanages, leper colonies in India, disaster-stricken Haiti, and in Myanmar, fighting against human trafficking. Through video, Joshua shared with the Western world the struggles of those in need. He traveled with a team for 10 years, helping with and documenting relief efforts while sharing hope through stories of restoration. An ordained minister, Joshua also worked with leading ancient Greek textural critics in Greece to preserve the remaining original manuscripts of the New Testament.

Joshua and Caleb also created and acted for movies, in which they portrayed the roles of Yeshua and/or His disciples. Soon, they discovered the power of social media for reaching an isolated world with the Gospel. Using humor and visual spectacle, they began teaching as the “Bearded Bible Brothers” for Zola Levitt Ministries’ online platforms. After gaining a loyal online following as respected Bible teachers, they became the messengers for Our Jewish Roots, further extending their reach to share the timeless wisdom of their well-cemented faith.

David and Kirsten Hart

David and Kirsten Hart — the new studio co-hosts for Our Jewish Roots — live in Florida. David, originally from California, and Kirsten from New York each toured extensively with various ministries since the 1970s, but teamed up after marrying in 1990.

Besides both of them working with television ministries since the ’80s, David studied music at Azusa Pacific University (CA), served as lead vocalist for the Gospel group TRUTH (a song he recorded — “Jesus Never Fails” — landed the group in the Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame!), and as vocal director for The Voices of Liberty at Walt Disney World. Kirsten sang back up for Grammy-winner Larnelle Harris, the USO tour group Re-Creation, and The Spurrlows.

They have two adult sons. Tyler served in the U.S. Army and married Kari in 2013. Ryan lived in Israel and worked as a video production specialist with the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem before moving back to the US.

Living in Florida, David currently leads worship for a local church and Kirsten speaks to women’s conferences and retreats across the country. They particularly enjoy leading music for Holy Land tours and believe that singing about Yeshua in His land is life changing.

With their background of leading music in local churches and traveling for ministry, they are excited about their journey with Zola Levitt Ministries.

Sarah Liberman

Sarah Liberman was born to Jewish parents in Israel and grew up the Galilee region. Her parents came to faith in Yeshua (Jesus) through meeting Jewish believers and she grew up in a Messianic home. She earned a degree in communications from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and an M.B.A shortly after that.

After marrying her husband, they moved to California, where she worked in corporate sales and marketing, living the American dream. In 2009, they moved back to Israel and she now lives with her husband and three children in a rural area near Caesarea.

In 2014, she recorded her first worship album, I Am Before You, and she became a worship leader. In 2016, she recorded a second album, A Pure Heart, and a third album in 2019, God of Miracles.

In addition to filming Hebrew Lessons for Our Jewish Roots and writing our Personal Letter newsletter, she travels throughout Israel and around the world, speaking as well as singing and leading worship.

Dr. Todd Baker is president of B’rit Hadashah Ministries since 2001.

With his extensive background in Jewish Evangelism, Todd has led over 45 Gospel outreaches to Israel since 2001. A former tour guide, Todd founded and leads ZLM’s To The Jew First Gospel Outreach to Israel.

Dr. Baker is an author of several books including Messengers of Messiah: Witnessing Encounters With the Chosen People, a speaker, and a teacher who has been interviewed on radio and television. He is currently a theological consultant for Zola Levitt Ministries.

Dov Schwarz

Dov Schwarz, a Jewish believer in Messiah Yeshua, now lives in Israel.

As a pastor, radio host, and author, Dov understands how the Body of Messiah should relate to God’s Land, and builds bridges to effect restoration between Israel and the Nations.

He and Suzanne have two children.

Eitan Shishkoff

Eitan Shishkoff and his wife, Connie, came to saving faith in Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah while living on a commune in the mountains of New Mexico in 1972.

Since then he has served in cross cultural evangelism, headed a day school at a Messianic synagogue, and then became pastor of the congregation.

God called them to Israel in 1992. Settling in Haifa, Eitan served on the pastoral staff of Kehilat HaCarmel. In 1995 he founded Ohalei Rahamim (Tents of Mercy) a Hebrew-speaking Messianic congregation and humanitarian aid center. Eitan and Connie have four grown children, seven grandsons and two granddaughters.

Chaim Malespin

Chaim Malespin made aliyah from the U.S. in 1999.

Graduating from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya in 2013, Chaim currently directs the Aliyah Return Center, training international interns, developing infrastructure in the Galilee, and promoting Israel and the Nations working together for Zion’s sake.

He and Deanna have three children.

Myles & Katharine Weiss

Myles and Katharine entered into partnership with ZLM in 2011 just as production began on the Ruth: Your People Shall Be My People TV series. In a twist that only God could provide, Ruth’s story is the Weisses’ story (gentile leads Jew to redemption). They had even based their marriage seminar on the Book of Ruth. They know it well.

Myles is a native of NYC, where he attended Hebrew school until his Bar Mitzvah. He received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Ministerial Arts and Biblical Counseling from Christian Life International Bible College in Novato, California, and his Master of Arts from Azusa Pacific University near Los Angeles. He is ordained with the Evangelical Church Alliance.

Katharine, a native California Catholic, was born again during her college years. A gentile, she pointed Myles to his Messiah in 1984.

Together they lead Beth Shalom a Messianic congregation and carry the Gospel of Jesus wherever they are led, including to Israel and into churches, where they help connect Jews to their Jewish Messiah and Christians to the Jewishness of their faith. They have been accompanied on this journey by their two sons who traveled the world with Mom and Dad and the Gospel.

Read their stories on page 8 of the June, July, and August 2011 Levitt Letter.

Tom McCall

Dr. Thomas McCall, previously the Senior Theologian of our ministry, has written many articles for the Levitt Letter.

He held a Th.M. in Old Testament studies and a Th.D. in Semitic languages and Old Testament. He served as Zola’s co-author, mentor, pastor, and friend for nearly 30 years.

He died January 29, 2021.
