Tony & Jane Derrick

Dear Friend,

WAKE UP!

Our world is overdue for another “Great Awakening!” Church historians cite four Great Awakenings in our nation’s history.

One occurred in the American colonies in the 1700s. For nearly a month in 1740, British evangelist George Whitefield preached daily to a crowd of more than 8,000 New Englanders. His style of preaching differed from the usual recitation of a manuscript: He preached without one, but with convicting emotion to common people in their language. His message met with great success as organized religion sought salvation of souls over piety.

Who will be the next incredible evangelist to the nations? Ever since Billy Graham passed in February, religious leaders and everyday Believers (“Believers” is short for “believers in Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah.”) have pondered that question. But the real question should be: What am I doing to evangelize my part of the world; and how am I contributing to evangelizing the rest of the world — Israel, specifically?

Have you ever felt like John the Baptist as he answered the Pharisees?

Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?” He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the Lord,”’ as the prophet Isaiah said [Isaiah 40:3].” — John 1:19–23

You and I don’t have to be a George Whitefield or a Billy Graham to fulfill the call of God to “make straight the way of the Lord.” We only need to be prepared to do what John did the day after his questioning.

The next day John saw Jesus/Yeshua coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” — John 1:29

We Believers are here to make Him known!

TEAM UP!

Every Bible-teaching ministry and outreach requires a financial commitment from the people of God. Yes, God owns “the cattle on a thousand hills” (Psalm 50:10), but since Creation, He has used people to accomplish His great purposes. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association was able to send Dr. Graham around the globe to preach the Gospel due to the generosity of God’s people.

Zola Levitt Ministries is asking you to team up with us during these crucial “Last Days” as we communicate to today’s world as “the voice of one crying in the wilderness,” i.e., with Bible teaching from a Jewish perspective and the sustained friendship with Israel that Zola began decades ago. Zola established the right to be heard among his Jewish friends in Israel.

God’s people find that they are able to accomplish more by working in a cooperative spirit rather than separately. Remember that devoted, undaunted worker Nehemiah? He surveyed the disrepair of the walls of Jerusalem and called on the citizenry to rebuild.

Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.” And I told them of the hand of my God, which had been good upon me, and also the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work. — Nehemiah 2:17–18 (emphasis mine)

Were there detractors? Yes, of course: Sanballat, the Horonite; Tobiah, the Ammonite official; Geshem, the Arab — all laughed at them. Nehemiah and the people were undeterred and continued the work. This letter’s space is limited, so please read his story’s conclusion in Nehemiah. (Hint: The activities after the work was completed.)

The modern State of Israel isn’t in the same disrepair as in Nehemiah’s day, but the souls of our Jewish friends continue to need their Messiah. Whether you are giving to our general fund to sustain our television, news magazine, and Internet outreaches or to our “To the Jew First” benevolence fund that sends trained emissaries to evangelize face-to-face in the Holy Land, we can do more together — like Nehemiah!

LOOK UP!

In 1977, Christian singer/ songwriter Gordon Jensen wrote a stirring song that begins, “Years of time have come and gone, since I first heard it told, how Jesus would come again someday.” The song’s chorus repeats the title: “Lift up your head, Redemption Draweth Nigh.

Signs of the times happen so frequently that I would not be surprised if the Rapture occurred before I complete this letter. Zola felt the same imminence, and sometimes advised viewers not to buy green bananas.

Look around our society — you see its decline, right? School shootings, corruption, police shootings, road rage, moral decay, political rage. You may ask, “Where is God in all of today’s chaos?” And the answer remains, Where He has always been — available. Too many of us deem Him unnecessary or passé! Paul’s warning in his second letter to Timothy points to where our deteriorating world is today.

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying its power. And from such people turn away! — 2 Timothy 3:1–5

Whatever your news sources may be, you’ll probably agree that Paul’s forecast to Timothy could complete most any news report of our day. Israel is still the world’s favorite fixation, more so since our president ended the stalling of previous administrations and actually moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Such a momentous gesture affirms for the world to see what most People of the Book already knew: Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel. Now, following suit, Guatemala and Paraguay have met with Benjamin Netanyahu and established their embassies in Jerusalem. Other nations will follow.

Will the global narrative now progress toward returning the Temple Mount to the Jews so they can begin building “The Third (Tribulation?) Temple”? These are exciting times! I conclude with another line from that Gordon Jensen song: “Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky! Lift up your head, redemption draweth nigh.”

For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. — Matthew 24:27

Standing firm with Israel and ZLM,

Tony

Tony

P.S. Well, that’s disappointing! I thought the Rapture might occur before I wrote these final lines. What does the Lord’s seeming to tarry tell you and me? That we have work to do. Won’t you please help support the vital work of this ministry? May God bless your generous spirit!   *

A Note from David and Kirsten

Thank you, Tony, for your inspirational insights. We both believe that today’s next “incredible” evangelist exists inside each of us. The Holy Spirit within each Believer today is more than ready to bear witness to everyone we meet about God’s power and redeeming love. If each of us tried to personally witness to everyone we could, the world would awaken as never before.

As you, Dear Reader, touch those in your everyday circle, we invite you to team up with us to literally carry the Good News around the globe.

Through Zola Levitt Presents, the Levitt Letter, Personal Letter lessons, social media, and www.levitt.com, we spread the message of Yeshua’s love and forgiveness worldwide. Still, we need your help. What an exciting opportunity for you to financially sustain a global ministry that supports and aids Israel, the Jewish people, and carries the Gospel message to all who’ll hear.

Perhaps you’d like to earmark a portion of your contributions to a particular aspect of the ministry. If you are an avid Levitt Letter reader, you can designate your donations to help pay for postage (newsletters are “free” for readers but costly for the ministry to produce and mail). Are you a faithful viewer of ZLP? Let us know that you would like to help us purchase television airtime, or that you want to underwrite the production costs of a 30-minute TV program.

This Month on Zola Levitt Presents

Jeff Seif

Viewers like you are in for a treat! Every time we’re in the studio with Dr. Jeffrey Seif, we are amazed at his humor, spiritual insight, and general likability. With his humility he brings decades of experience at the church pulpit and seminary lectern. Nonetheless, some will say the best part about this month’s programs is hearing classic Bible lessons from Zola!

Our television producer Ken Berg has remastered Zola’s classic series Thy Kingdom Come. The teaching remains remarkably relevant! Amazingly, a series recorded years ago by our ministry’s founder still relates spot-on to today’s world events. That’s because Zola adhered to the Gospel and Bible prophecy — both authored by God, Who knows the future. You will want to watch each and every episode, so set your DVR accordingly, watch our programs live, or click away at www.levitt.tv to take it all in. Maybe invite your family and friends to watch, too, and learn from Zola and Jeff.

Write and let us know what you personally learn from this series, and how its Bible teaching applies to your life. We’d love to hear from you!

Originally produced in 2001 and now with improved sound and picture quality, each of the 12 programs of Thy Kingdom Come searches Bible prophecy to reveal the glorious future events awaiting all Believers in Messiah. David and Kirsten Hart introduce the teachings and music of Zola Levitt, with analysis from senior theologian, Dr. Jeffrey Seif.

Overview
From a scenic park near Jerusalem, Zola gives a preview of the series, revealing the future of Believers according to Bible prophecy.
The Rapture
At a graveyard on Mount Zion, Zola teaches about the “catching up” of Believers, the first End Times event on the prophetic calendar. In the studio, Dave and Kirsten talk with Jeff about the amazing surprise and timing of the Rapture of the Church.
The Judgment Seat of the Righteous
Zola teaches among the ruins of ancient Caesarea about Believers’ rewards for accomplishments. Rather than working for temporal gain, we Believers anticipate heavenly rewards.
The Wedding
In the beautiful rose garden next to the Knesset in Jerusalem, Zola teaches about the Believers’ wedding to the Messiah and its Jewish context.

Thank you for investing in Kingdom work by partnering with Zola Levitt Ministries. And please remember to sha’alu shalom Yerushalayim! — pray for the peace of Jerusalem! — Psalm 122:6 *

Todah (Thanks),
David & Kirsten
